Dan Santiago

Dan started his design journey when architecture evolved into a concept more all-encompassing than he could have ever imagined.

Dan's materialist lenses only let him see architecture as studs, windows, and concrete in the shape of a "building". He stumbled upon famous designs by people like Frank Lloyd Wright and Frank Gehry that he thought were interesting and immediately had a desire to create his own design. This led him down the path toward architecture school where he experimented with different design tools, but with the idea of the human experience as a secondary or tertiary component in the design process. In hindsight, he realized that this was the wrong approach, so he turned towards a philosophical path - a dive into the infinitely complex design of the human experience itself and how someone in his position can respond to it.

In Plato's Republic, Socrates said, "What gives truth to the things known and the power to know to the knower is the form of good." Architects will always fall short of this form, as would everyone, but regardless, this is his target as he continues to learn and grow with us, as well as in all of his other endeavors.
